Africa Regional Center
Chrispin joins IIRR as a program manager with 10 years of experience and strategic planning, and project management and implementation skills. With Heifer International, he worked as a Deputy Director, Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator, and a Program Manager. He has also worked with the Ministry of Livestock Development in Kenya. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Production from Egerton University and a Certificate in Program Management from Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute. He has also taken Master’s level courses in Community Economic Development
Eric Mwaura holds a Master’s of Science and a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture from Nairobi University. He has over 15 years of hands-on experience in implementation and management of community development projects focused on food and livelihoods security in Eastern Africa. Eric has previously worked as a Value Chain Manager for the SEEP Network/AMpath for Africa Now. He has also worked with the Kenya Flower Council, the Kenya Institute of Organic Farming, and the Green Belt Movement.

Jackie has over four years experience in administration. She has a Higher Diploma in Information technology and a degree in International Business Administration from the United States International University.
Jacquie has over eight years professional and educational experience in Human Resource Management & Administration and effectively supporting executive level staff both in the NGO and Agricultural sectors. She has a degree in Business Administration (HR Option), a post Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management. Tervil joins IIRR with over 15 years of experience in communications and journalism. Prior to joining IIRR, Tervil worked as a part-time university lecturer in communications and journalism and as a communications consultant. He has also worked as an Editor, Bureau Chief, and Writer for the Pan African News Agency, and as an editor and writer with two local newspapers in Kenya. He has a Master’s of Arts in Communications Studies and a Bachelor’s of Art in English Literature. He is currently pursuing a PhD. in Media and Communications.
Bernice Jane joined IIRR in 2015 in the Knowledge, Documentation and Communication department. She has 2 years experience with different organizations including corporate sector. Before joining IIRR Reuben worked for the Embassy of Finland in Nairobi as a driver for the Attaché. He has worked at IIRR’s Africa Regional Center as a driver for more than five years.
Firew joined IIRR in 2007 as IIRR’s Country Director for Ethiopia. With a background in educational psychology and organizational development, Firew has over twenty-five years of program experience throughout East Africa, including Rwanda, Kenya, South Sudan and Ethiopia. Embracing an approach of building on existing community strengths, Firew has been able to help shift the views of communities from a dependency and relief mindset to that of development and partnership. Previous professional experience includes Child Protection Officer for UNICEF – South Sudan; Program Development Officer for Save the Children – Sweden; Country Director for Ethiopia and Rwanda field offices of University College Cork – Ireland; and Guidance and Counseling Officer for the Ethiopian Ministry of Education. Firew has also taught courses at the National University of Rwanda. Firew has served for two terms as the President of the Ethiopian Psychologists’ Association, and has also been an International Editorial Board Member for the International Journal of Migration, Health and Social Care. Firew was also an International Fellow of FORD Motor Company’s Program with the 92nd Street Y in New York City focused on Leadership in a Changing World. Currently, Firew serves as a focal person for Applied Learning in IIRR’s Africa Regional Centre while working as Assistant Academic Director for East Africa for Future Generation Graduate School (USA). firstname.lastname@example.org
