General Description

The Development Communications and Advocacy Assistant (Knowledge Management and Communications Focal) is responsible for enhancing IIRR’s knowledge management systems. This involves organizing diverse knowledge products into more accessible platforms. Additionally, this role contributes to the production, development, and dissemination of various products and services. The post is expected to report to the Development Communication Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management of the IIRR repository website, ensuring that it remains up-to-date and user-friendly.
  • Organize IIRR brown bag sessions to facilitate the sharing of various knowledge products among staff.
  • Lead or assist in the generation and development of diverse knowledge products, including reports, case studies, videos, and policy briefs.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and face-to-face activities to contribute to team collaboration and project progress.
  • Conduct field work as necessary to gather information and support project implementation.
  • Host events such as workshops, conferences, and trainings to engage stakeholders and disseminate information.
  • Provide support to the DevCom team in relevant activities, such as social media management, content creation, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • A degree in Development Communication, Communication Development, Sociology, Rural Development, or other related discipline
  • Fresh graduate, preferably previous interns of IIRR
  • Demonstrated effective writing and communication skills in English. Demonstrated ability to work with people and organizations in communities.
  • Team player and ability to work productively with teams
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and multicultural work environment
  • Computer proficient: ability to work with computer applications such as Word, Excel and Canva, Powerpoint, Video Editing Software, Photo-editing software
