Emily currently works as the Country Director in the Philippines and is also the Acting Director for IIRR Regional Center for Asia. She provides strategic directions of the Philippine country program and oversees implementation of its flagship program.
She has 27 years of work experience mostly in Asia, focusing on research and development, public health i.e. nutrition and clinical nursing, community resilience building, community-managed disaster risk reduction (CMDRR), monitoring and evaluation, capacity development and documentation through write-shops.
She finished her Master’s in Public Health under a full scholarship from James P. Grant School of Public Health at BRAC University in Bangladesh.
