MORE GREAT WORK WITH UNDERNOURISHED CHILDREN:  On July 25, 2022, IIRR Philippines and the Department of Education renewed their partnership to expand the tremendously successful Integrated School Nutrition Model (ISNM).

After 11 years of delivering the program across hundreds of schools, we are now ready to roll this critically important work out to even more schools. This latest phase will include gardening, nutrition education, and supplementary-based feeding programs to achieve better nutrition outcomes among children aged 6-12 years. Over 273 schools nationwide will be involved. The Ceremonial MOA Signing was attended by IIRR Myanmar Country Director Wilson John Barbon, Operations Director Magnolia Rosimo, DepEd Director Lope Santos, and BLSS-SHD Chief Ma. Corazon Dumlao.

As a response to the initiative, DepEd Director Lope Santos shared positive feedback on ISNM.

“We have replicated the ISNM framework in five schools in Laguna. The outcomes were a huge success, and are being used in further operations.”
