IIRR is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, respect, and accountability in all that we do. We recognize our responsibility to protect the dignity, rights, and well-being of every person – especially children, women, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable individuals – with whom we work in rural communities.

IIRR’s safeguarding commitment applies to all staff, volunteers, consultants, partners, and representatives. We firmly expect all persons and organizations associated with IIRR to act in ways that promote a culture of safety, inclusion, and respect, and to prevent all forms of direct or indirect exploitation, abuse, harassment, or neglect.

Our safeguarding approach is grounded in the following principles:

Zero tolerance

for any form of abuse, exploitation, or discrimination.

Shared responsibility

among all staff, partners, and associates to create and maintain safe environments.

Empowerment and participation

of community members, ensuring that their voices are heard and respected in all stages of our programs.

Transparency and accountability

through clear reporting mechanisms, prompt response to safeguarding concerns, and continuous improvement of our policies and practices.

Alignment with international standards

including the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability.

IIRR is dedicated to ensuring that our development work not only supports the advancement of livelihoods but also strengthens the safety and resilience of the communities we serve.

Anyone who experiences or witnesses a safeguarding concern related to our programs or personnel is encouraged to report it immediately through our confidential reporting channels. Every report will be handled with sensitivity, fairness, and without retaliation.
