IIRR is a research, educational, and community development organization with over 60 years of experience in empowering rural communities to overcome poverty through people-centered and sustainable development approaches called “rural reconstruction”.

IIRR believes that young people have a lot to contribute to the fight against poverty. To allow for more of these opportunities, IIRR has introduced an internship scheme for university graduates to have first-hand experience in development work. The interns will work within IIRR’s Philippine project sites in Cavite, Ivisan-Capiz, and Guinayangan Quezon strictly for six months. The six months service is non-renewable and does not guarantee employment with IIRR. No salary and other benefits will be paid to interns but the organization will provide a modest amount to cover living expenses. Applicants should have a BA/BSC degree, preferably in  the following:

  • Agriculture, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management
  • Health, Nutrition or other related disciplines
  • Education, Sociology, geography, or other related disciplines
  • Development communication
  • Community development or rural development

Women applicants are particularly encouraged to apply.
