As IIRR enters its 60th anniversary, it gives us immense pleasure to present our 2019 Annual Impact Report.
Over the last 59 years, we have impacted the lives of more than 15 million people through implementing anti-poverty programs in Africa and Asia. We have worked across the globe to build economic opportunities for rural people by improving their health, education, and environment. Aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals, our impact report gives a detailed insight into our anti-poverty programs. It explains how we addressed the issues by adopting systems and a community-based approach in rural areas. Our four pillars Planet, People, Prosperity, and Pedagogy, will tell you about the impact stories and gives a peek into the lives of some of our beneficiaries. Our highlights section informs about the innovative solutions, dedicated partners, and the global learning programs that create waves of sustainable change.
Through our work last year, we improved the lives of approximately 500,000 people. As our work scope continues to expand, we ensure that our results address the global challenges related to poverty reduction, inequality, health, education, climate crisis, and environmental degradation.
The ongoing pandemic is affecting rural people in the most unheard and upsetting ways. We at IIRR are ensuring to mitigate the impacts of the virus on the vulnerable communities, and we hope that our 2019 Annual Impact Report gives hope to everyone around the world and encourages all of us to work together for a greener, healthier, happier and prosperous tomorrow.
